Personality & Traits
| Personal History | Raelyn was born in the heart of a Klingon and Cardassian occupied Seattle in 2346. Like most Terran children, Raelyn was born into slavery. Seattle housed many rich descendants, and many were able to buy their ways out of slavery, at least to the point where the Klingons and Cardassians wouldn’t bother them. Her family didn’t as they were poor. The conditions were terrible and Raelyn had (and still does) a pure hatred for the Klingon - Cardassian Alliance. The first few years of her life were bad, but they’d only get worse. When she was ten, her father and brother were killed at the hands of a Klingon warden in front of her own eyes, leaving her and her mother. As the next few years went by, her and her dad had proved to the Klingons running the city center that they could be trustworthy through hard work, and they got more freedoms than the others. It was when Raelyn was eighteen that her mother had revealed a cell of the Terran Rebellion operating in the underground of Seattle (literally). As it turned out, there were more of these ‘cells’ in other major cities around the world. Her mother as well as other members of the Rebellion taught her how to fight, as they did with other children and teenagers. However they wouldn’t have enough members for any kind of strike, if ever. Six years later the Terran Rebellion had their chance to take back Earth. The rebels on Earth, joined by those from outside of the Sol system, were successful. Leading up to the retake of Earth, Raelyn had risen through the ranks of her splinter cell, and now rank of Lieutenant. Soon enough, she found herself aboard an old Excelsior class ship, the ISS Malinche under the command of Captain Sanders as the ship's head inquisitor. Raelyn had been known to be tough on those she trained when she was higher ranked in her cell and her experience granted her that position. She served until 2376, when she was promoted to Lieutenant Commander and Second Officer. She left soon after when she found herself at odds with the Malinche’s XO, and because of laws she couldn’t ‘take’ his position out of the blue. Raelyn joined the crew of the newly commissioned ISS Wayfarer as the ship's head inquisitor once again. She served with distinction, upholding discipline on the crew. That is until later that year the ship ventured to another universe to steal designs from a faction known as The United Federation of Planets. In an attempt to take that universe’s Wayfarer, Raelyn failed in her duties at the hand of her counterpart. Upon return to her own universe, she found herself dismissed as the head inquisitor. She was lucky to not be killed for it. However the cost of her actions was to serve as a personal aid to the Emperor. On paper it was a very prestigious assignment. In actuality it wasn’t. It was an excuse to punish her for failing the Terran leader. No chance at promotion and any wrong action would have her head. She didn’t think that anything would change. Until it did. In 2378 there was an attempt on the Emporer’s life. While the majority of this is classified, Raelyn was prevented by killing the assailant in a fight to protect her boss, as much as she hated the Emperor. She found herself redeemed and was given a promotion to be the Executive Officer of the ISS Malinche. She had taken the old XO’s position without killing him. Captain Sanders had been long gone from the ship. The old XO was now in command. She still found herself at odds with him but then again, by now, Raelyn hated everyone. But somehow she served with distinction, and found herself aboard a brand new Hestia class ship as her XO, just over two years later. |
