Mission:
Anubis Rises
Location: Ready Room
Reina pulled on her Imperial uniform, adjusting the grey tassels that always seemed to flop in whenever she put on the short cut tunic. Reina never was a fan of the Imperial uniform. Not only was the slutty design a practical invitation for sexual contact, both wanted and unwanted, but the total exposure of her midriff left the wearer exposed to melee weapons. She much preferred her First Order uniform, which fixed these issues. However, the name of the game was blending in, which meant wearing the local attire, even if it irritated her that improvements hadn't been heeded.
Blending in also meant sticking to her backstory, which Reina recited in small snippets as she touched up her makeup.
"Comfort woman... Cardassian cruiser... High heel through his skull..." She said. The crew of the Shuto had long accepted her story. However, this would be her first time reciting it to a new crew. Would they believe her?
There was only one way to find out: With her makeup touched up, and Reina looking as fresh as if she had just applied it, she packed up the makeup she had been using before heading off to meet the Captain...
Louise was sat in her ready room. When the chime rang. "Who is it?" She called out.
"Lieutenant Akikawa:" Reina responded. Her tone was curt and matter of fact.
The door swished open. "Well, get in then. Don't stand there all day!"
Reina didn't hesitate. She had grown used to the threats by now. Frankly, they spoke to the childishness of this so-called 'Empire,' and Reina had included her opinions in her notes.
Reina stopped short of the Captain's desk and stood at attention. She had learned the hard way that getting too close to a captain's desk threatened the commanding officer's fragile ego, so stopping short was a way for them to size up how much of a threat she posed.
"Reporting for duty as ordered, ma'am." She stated. Despite her outwardly Asian appearance, Reina had what could be described as an English accent.
"And you are?" Louise asked simply.
"Lieutenant Reina Akikawa." Reina identified herself. Having to repeat herself was not a good start...
"Intelligence from the uniform I gather?" Louise asked.
"Information to the core." Reina responded. "But, you'll find I'm far more useful than simple information gathering. Ever heard of Zodrac Kosh?"
"Can't say I have." Louise said. "Should I have?"
"I had the personal pleasure of killing that spoon headed bastard." Reina explained. "He never saw it coming."
"Congratulations. You killed a Cardassian." Louise said. "But that's nothing to write home about. We've all killed them here." She stated. "Now, tell me. Who are you loyal to. You answer determines how you leave this room, either on your feet or in a bag."
"My Loyalty is to the Empire." Reina stated without hesitation. "If that's not an answer you accept, perhaps it is your loyalty you need to question."
"Your loyalty to the Empire is noted. But you will be loyal to me too." Louise warned. "You know the punishment for being a traitor." She scowled. "So I ask again. Who are you loyal to?"
Reina folded her arms.
"I'm afraid that's not how loyalty works, Mon Capitaine." She said. "Loyalty is earned, not simply demanded. Too often, I have seen where those who demand blind loyalty wind up. You speak of treason, and yet those who demand blind loyalty are most prone to commit it. I am loyal to the Empire, and will only be loyal to you if I deem you worthy of my loyalty. If that answer does not appease you, then by all means: Bag me up and throw me out with your trash."
A wry smile stretched across Louise's face. "Its about damn time someone on this ship knows how loyalty actually works. Your answer is correct, loyalty is earned not demanded. This was all a test." Louise told her. "For if you submitted to just anyone who tells you to, it shows you have weak character."
Perhaps these Terrans were not too far gone after all... Reina thought.
"Weak characters have no place in the natural order of things:" Reina explained. "They only exist to slow those of strong character down, and if they are not shown their place, it is a systemic failure."
"Now, one final question." Louise said. "How do you feel regarding the Cardassians and Klingons?"
"My feelings regarding them are clear:" Reina said. "They are scum that must be eradicated from the face of this galaxy."
"So, if one walks through that door right now. What do you do?" Louise asked as she intertwined her fingers together.
"How gruesome do you want the details?" Reina responded with her own question, an evil smirk spreading on her face.
"Just. Tell me." Louise frowned. "I hate delays, just get on with it!"
"Very well..." Reina nodded. "First thing I'd do is go for a disarming move: The males are easy, for all you have to do is ram your knee between their legs. The females are a bit trickier, but even they can be disarmed fairly quickly. Now that they're disarmed, the next step is to immobilize them. I find the most consistent way to do it is to vault them over me. It can be tricky if you're ill-prepared or equipped, but it's surprisingly effective, and the harder they hit the ground, the better. Once immobilized, the final step is to execute them. Ideally with their own weapon. In short, the model I follow is called DIE: Disarm, Immobilize, Execute."
As Reina spoke, she did her best to physically act out what she was describing. It was difficult and slightly awkward without a proper demonstration partner, but Reina felt it got her points across.
"I see," Louise said. "I prefer a simpler method." She told her. She pulled the phaser off her belt and a beam of orange energy narrowly missed the Lieutenant's head striking the wall behind. "I see a Cardassian or a Klingon. I shoot to kill."
"A simple process indeed," Reina commented, nonchalantly brushing off the near miss. "But you must also account for what happens when you miss: No Klingon or Cardassian I've come across has ever given me enough time to get a second shot off, hence the DIE method."
"I don't miss." Louise said simply. "Anyways. You're an Intelligence Officer. Tell me about any fleet or enemy movements."
"The Alliance is shoring up their defenses in the Vulcan, Andor, and Tellar systems:" Reina stated. "They also appear to be relocating Terran slaves to those systems as well. Either there's some major project happening, or they're anticipating further strikes, and are padding themselves out with Terrans to sacrifice as collateral. Neither possibility I would put past those bastards..."
"Absolute bastards," Louise said. "Send me the latest updates. I will need them."
"I shall go ahead and compile the information you request." Reina nodded. "If that will be all?"
"Yes. Dismissed." Louise said.
